The Deol family is in a celebratory mood following the blockbuster opening of Sunny Deol’s comeback film Gadar 2, which breached the Rs 100-crore mark at the box office in merely three days, breaking several records.
Sunny’s father, veteran actor Dharmendra, thanked fans for making Gadar 2 a hit from Day 1, sharing a video of Sunny and Bobby Deol at a special screening of the film arranged by Esha Deol.
“Friends love you all for making Gadar 2 a big success ……Togetherness a great blessing,” the 87-year-old actor wrote alongside the clip on Twitter (Now X) on Sunday.
Later in the day, Dharmendra shared a video of the audience dancing to the Gadar theme song after the screening at a theatre. “Love you all for your loving response …Gadar,” he wrote alongside the clip.
Bobby Deol took to Instagram to share a video of him and Sunny at the packed Gaiety theatre and wrote, “#AboutLastNight at Gaiety Galaxy. Thank you for all the love … I am so happy for you Bhaiya.”
Sunny’s son Rajveer Deol also penned a heartfelt congratulatory note for his “superhero” dad. “You’re the institution we look up to. The honesty, passion and dedication with which you work are reflected in the response #Gadar2 has been garnering. Once a Superstar, always a Superstar. It’s time to celebrate my superhero, my DAD,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a childhood photo of him posing with Sunny.
Featuring Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Manish Wadhwa alongside Sunny, Gadar 2 is helmed by Anil Sharma, who also directed the 2001 blockbuster prequel.
