Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions teased a “new love story” directed by “SK” in a cryptic video on Wednesday night, fuelling speculations about the involvement of Badrinath Ki Dulhania director Shashank Khaitan.
“A new love story is planted and it’s full of ☀-shine. Stay tuned,” the production house wrote alongside the video, which teased a new romantic movie with a typewriter type-on-text effect. The video begins with a white page on which the words “Untitled film” are being typed. But the words soon get erased by the typist, revealing that the upcoming film is “a new love story” directed by “SK”.
The teaser, however, does not unravel the names of cast members and only asks fans to stay tuned. Fans flooded the comment section, speculating that the film would be headlined by Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt since the duo have worked on the Dulhania franchise directed by Khaitan.
Khaitan is no stranger to Dharma Productions as he has gained fame through Karan Johar-backed films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Dhadak (2018).
Dharma Productions is currently awaiting the release of their upcoming film Yodha starring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, it is slated to release in theatres on March 15.
Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital segment of the production house, recently produced the Amazon Prime Video series Love Storiyaan, which revolves around six real-life couples reliving their love stories once again.
