A blood-soaked Jr NTR swings his sword to hack and chop pirates on the shore of the Red Sea in the Devara Part- 1 teaser, dropped by the makers on Monday.
The one-minute-19-second-long video opens with a view of pirate boats sailing on a stormy night. As the pirates try to climb onto the decks of a cargo ship, they face a menacing Jr NTR who doesn’t think twice about slicing their throats with a curved sword and other weapons even as Jawan music composer Anirudh Ravichander’s powerful sea shanty All Hail The Tiger plays in the background.
“This sea has witnessed more swords and blood than fish. No wonder they call it the ‘Red Sea’,” says Jr NTR at the end of the video, hinting at his character’s quest for justice and revenge.
The grim blue-hued video is a nod to other pirate sagas like the Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley-starrer Pirates of the Caribbean film series. Rathnavelu ISC has worked on the cinematography, while the VFX is supervised by Yugandhar T.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part- 1 also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain and Murali Sharma. Saif Ali Khan plays the main antagonist in the film, which marks Janhvi’s Telugu debut.
Produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, the first part of the Devara will be released on April 5 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages.
