Actor-producer Dev on Sunday dropped the first character poster of actress Rukmini Maitra for their upcoming film Tekka, a Srijit Mukherji directorial slated to hit theatres on October 8.

The poster, which resembles a playing card, showcases Rukmini in a white shirt and leather jacket. She sports short hair, wears sunglasses and holds a gun in the poster. Rukmini’s character in Tekka is named Maya.

Sharing the poster on social media, Dev wrote, “In the land of Sahib Bibi Ghulam, there’s more hidden up the sleeve... See you this Puja with Tekka. Power, responsibility, and justice! Meet Maya, who rules the streets.”

Tekka features Dev in the lead, with Rukmini Maitra and Swastika Mukherjee playing important roles. Srijit has co-written the screenplay for the thriller with Bhaskar Chattopadhyay, based on a story by the latter. Modhura Palit serves as the cinematographer for the film.

Tekka will face-off against Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Bohurupi at the box office. Bohurupi features Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and Shiboprosad in key roles. Mithun Chakraborty-starrer Shastri, directed by Pathikrit Basu, will also release in theatres during Durga Puja.

Tekka marks Dev’s reunion with Srijit Mukherji after Zulfiqar (2016). The Tollywood star has another film slated for release in 2024: Soojit Dutta’s Khadaan, which also stars Jisshu Sengupta in a key role.

Rukmini Maitra was last seen in Boomerang with Jeet, and she is set to play the lead in the upcoming biopic of Noti Binodini.
