The last two episodes of Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc will run for 40 minutes and one hour, respectively, the makers recently announced alongside a new teaser of the anime series.
Six episodes of the new season have been released so far.
“Two weeks in a row of extended episodes is headed our way from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc! New episodes start streaming Sunday only on @crunchyroll,” they wrote on the official X page of the anime.
Set in Taisho-era Japan, Demon Slayer follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado who returns home one day to find that his family has been killed by demons and his sister Nezuko has been turned into one. Tanjiro resolves to avenge his family and find a cure for his sister. Soon, he comes across the Demon Slayer Corps where he undergoes rigorous training to become a skilled swordsman and protect humanity from the vicious demons.
In the new instalment, which covers the Hashira Training Arc of the manga, Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu joined the elite group of demon slayers — known as Hashira — to combat demon king Muzan and restore peace to the world.
The teaser shows a recap of Tanjiro’s training with all the Hashiras at their respective locations. We also get a first-look of Muzan from the upcoming episodes. The demon king, who is planning to abduct Nezuko, sits in his lair and looks enraged.
Demon Slayer director Haruo Sotozaki continues to helm the anime at Ufotable, with Akira Matsushima as chief animation director and character designer. The music for the sequel has been composed by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.
Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc airs every Sunday at 11pm on Crunchyroll.
