A khaki-clad Deepika Padukone recreated Ajay Devgn’s iconic Singham pose as ‘Lady Singham’ in her latest picture shared on Friday, prompting reactions from Singham franchise creator Rohit Shetty.
“#LadySingham. #ShaktiShetty,” the 38-year-old actress wrote alongside the poster shared on Instagram.
In the picture, we can see Deepika sporting a police uniform and sunglasses. With her hair tied up into a neat bun, she makes a clawing gesture with her hands similar to Ajay’s signature pose from the film franchise. The title track of Singham sung by Sukhwinder Singh plays in the background.
“One and only,” wrote Indian Police Force star Mayyank Taandon in the comments section. Deepika's Fighter co-star Akshay Oberoi dropped fire emojis.
Shetty shared the motion poster on his Instagram and wrote, “My hero…reel mein bhi aur real mein bhi Lady Singham.”
Deepika took to the comment section of Shetty’s post and wrote, “Let’s Do This.”
Last year, a character poster of Deepika as the cop Shakti Shetty was unveiled by the makers. In the poster, Deepika was seen in a cop avatar for the first time. In the backdrop of burning vehicles, the actress holds a man by his hair and puts a gun in his mouth in the poster.
Shetty’s Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham Again is the latest film in his popular cop thriller franchise Singham, which began with the 2011 film Singham. A sequel to 2014’s Singham Returns, the upcoming cop thriller also features Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor alongside Deepika and Ajay.
Shetty recently made his OTT debut with Prime Video series Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.
Singham Again is slated to release on August 15.
