Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are expecting their first child in September, they announced through an Instagram post on Thursday.
Deepika, who recently appeared at BAFTA 2024 as a presenter, shared an image of baby clothing and balloons on Instagram with ‘September 2024’ written across it.
Reports of Deepika’s pregnancy surfaced online after fellow Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently gave birth to a baby boy. The rumours gained momentum when the actress reportedly hid her midriff at BAFTA Awards, where she looked gorgeous in a Sabyasachi couture sari and custom jewellery.
Ranvir returned to Mumbai on February 27 from an undisclosed location and refused to reply to queries. But all this changed this morning when the couple announced their pregnancy on social media.
Bollywood celebrities Vikrant Massey and Kriti Sanon congratulated the couple on the joyous occasion. “OMGGGGGGG!!!! Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko,” the 12th Fail actor wrote in the comment section.
Deepika and Ranveer started dating each other on the sets of the 2013 film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. They tied the knot on November 14, 2018 at Lake Como in Italy.
After sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in 2023’s Pathaan and Jawan, Deepika was last seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. She is set to appear alongside Ranveer in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, slated to release on August 15. In last year’s Oscars ceremony, the actress presented RRR’s Naatu Naatu song, which went on to bag the Best Song Award at the 95th Academy Awards.
