Deepika Padukone wanted to feel confident and give it her all while shooting for the Vaibhavi Merchant-choreographed Besharam Rang song, the Pathaan actress said in an interview recently.

“I have been very fortunate to be a part of some iconic songs, and I think every time you are given this opportunity as a performer, you want to feel confident, you want to look great, you want to give it your all. So, I have always wanted to work with her (Vaibhavi) and it finally happened and I was nervous because I’ve heard that she’s really strict but it actually turned out to be completely the opposite.”

Deepika has had several iconic chartbusters to her credit and Besharam Rang definitely is a part of that list. The beach party song has become a rage across the world.

Deepika also spoke about the challenge the entire crew had to face while shooting in freezing temperatures in Spain.

The Gehraiyaan actress said, “We had to shoot for five days if I’m not mistaken. It was not easy, the weather was really difficult but Vaibhavi kept the mood light. She made sure everyone was taken care of.”

The actress also praised the Spanish dancers and crew for their support and Vishal-Shekhar’s music for connecting them to the song without understanding the lyrics.

“Somewhere deep down inside you always hope that people standing around you will start dancing. It happened with both of our songs —they (Spanish dancers and crew) didn’t know the language but something about that emotion would connect like a celebration. It was so lovely to see that beyond a point, movies, cinema, music truly transcend borders. These songs, in particular, truly did that,” Deepika added.

The three-minute-51-second-long video also features interviews with director Siddharth Anand, choreographer Vaibhavi and Shah Rukh Khan. The video gives us behind-the-scenes footage of the challenges the entire team had to face.

Pathaan is a part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe. The spy action thriller is on course to gross over Rs 1000 crore at the global box office.
