Actress Deepika Padukone has beaten her Pathaan co-star Shah Rukh Khan to the top spot of IMDb’s 100 most-viewed Indian stars of the last decade (January 2014- April 2024), shows a list published by the online database of information related to films and shows on Wednesday.
Based on weekly rankings, the IMDb list features actors and actresses from Bollywood and the South Indian film industries. The rankings are determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors from around the world to the IMDb website.
Talking about the recognition, Deepika expressed her gratitude to fans, saying she was deeply thankful to be included in a list that resonates with a global audience. “This recognition is truly humbling and inspires me to continue connecting with and reciprocating the love I receive from audiences, both on and off screen with authenticity and purpose,” she added.
Since her 2007 debut in Om Shanti Om, where she shared screen space with Shah Rukh, Deepika has won over audiences with films like Padmaavat (2018) and Pathaan (2023). She made her Hollywood debut with 2017’s xXx: Return of Xander Cage and went on to represent the country as a presenter on the Oscars stage in 2023.
Apart from Deepika and Shah Rukh, the IMDb list also features stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Irrfan Khan, Nayanthara, Dhanush and Allu Arjun.
