Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine had an impressive first weekend in India, collecting Rs 66.65 crore nett in three days, according to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk.
The superhero movie opened with Rs 21 crore nett on Friday in India, followed by Rs 22.65 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 23 crore nett on Sunday.
Deadpool & Wolverine earned USD 438 million worldwide, USD 205 million in North America and USD 233 million from international markets, according to Box Office Mojo. The Shawn Levy directorial collected USD 24 million in the opening weekend in China, USD 22.10 million in the UK and USD 18.70 million in Mexico.
Deadpool & Wolverine boasts the largest opening weekend for an A-rated film both domestically and internationally. The MCU film has already secured its place as the 12th highest-grossing Hollywood opener ever at the global box office. It has emerged as the highest Hollywood-opener in India in 2024.
Deadpool & Wolverine faces Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri-starrer Bad Newz at the Indian box office. The Anand Tiwari-helmed comedy film has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark at the domestic box office, with a collection of Rs 53.88 crore nett in 10 days.
