Deadpool & Wolverine crosses Rs 100-crore mark in India, inches closer to USD 1 billion globally

The Shawn Levy-directed MCU movie has emerged as the second-highest grosser of 2024 worldwide

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer Deadpool & Wolverine crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the Indian box office on its second weekend in theatres, collecting Rs 109.4 crore in 10 days, according to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk.

The Shawn Levy-directed MCU movie registered an opening day collection of Rs 21 crore nett and maintained its momentum throughout its opening weekend — Rs 22.65 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 22.3 crore nett on Sunday. The MCU superhero movie added Rs 23.7 crore nett to its collection from Monday to Thursday.

Deadpool & Wolverine began its second week in theatres with a collection of Rs 4.25 crore nett. The earnings improved to Rs 7.25 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 8 crore nett on Sunday.

Deadpool & Wolverine is having a spectacular run at the global box office too. The film has minted USD 824 million worldwide till Sunday. This includes USD 395.5 million in North America and an additional USD 428.5 million from the international markets, according to trade figures from Box Office Mojo.

The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer is now the second highest grossing movie of the year globally after Inside Out 2 (USD 1.55 billion). Despicable Me 4 (USD 752 million) crossed the collections of Dune: Part 2 (USD 711 million) to emerge as the third highest grossing movie of 2024 worldwide.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn, Tabu-starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha had a lacklustre first weekend in cinemas, minting Rs 6.75 crore nett at the box office in three days. Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh, which released on the same day, has raked in Rs 4.9 crore nett in the same period.
