Actor-filmmaker Dhanush has announced his third directorial venture, tentatively titled DD3, with a concept poster on X (formerly Twitter).

The poster features a yellow park bench on a beach, with two stray pieces of paper on it. In the background, the star-studded horizon seamlessly merges with the vast ocean.

Besides the setting which suggests a love story, the teaser poster also mentions a date. Two crescent moons resembling the alphabet D and the numeral 3 indicate that this is going to be the third movie helmed by Dhanush.

Though details about the title of the film and its cast are yet to be revealed, the poster hints that an official announcement is likely to come on December 24, 2023.

The logo at the top left corner of the poster makes it clear that the film will be produced by Dhanush’s production company, Wunderbar Films.

Dhanush recently completed the filming of his second project as a director. He took to X to thank the entire cast and crew of the movie, tentatively titled D50. “My sincere thanks to the entire crew and cast. Also a big thanks to Kalanithi Maran sir and Sun Pictures for supporting my vision,” wrote the 40-year-old actor on December 15.

Dhanush made his debut as a director with the 2017 comedy Pa Paandi. The film recounts the tale of a retired stunt master who embarks on a journey to find his lost love.

Dhanush will next star in Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller alongside Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar and Sundeep Kishan. The film is slated to hit the theatres on the occasion of Pongal in January 2024.
