Former English footballer David Beckham concluded his India visit with a scrumptious dinner at Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai residence Mannat, where he indulged in Indian cuisine.

Sharing a picture of the duo on Instagram on Friday, Shah Rukh wrote, “Last night with an icon…and an absolute gentleman. Have always been a big admirer but meeting him and seeing how he is with kids made me realise that the only thing that out does his football is his kindness and his gentle nature.”

Shah Rukh, who is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film Dunki, ended the note by writing, “My love to your family. Be well and happy my friend and get some sleep….@Davidbeckham.”

Beckham, who travelled to India for the first time this week as UNICEF’s Goodwill ambassador to promote gender equality and girl empowerment, shared a monochrome picture of him posing for the camera with Shah Rukh.

“Honoured to have been welcomed into this great man’s home. To enjoy a meal with @iamsrk, @gaurikhan, their beautiful children and close friends – what a special way to end my first visit to India. Thank you my friend – you and your family are welcome any time in my home…”

Beckham shared pictures of his dinner platter at Mannat on his Instagram stories.

The footballer also thanked actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her husband Anand Ahuja for inviting him to their house party. “@sonamkapoor and @anandahuja - you hosted me with such warmth and kindness this week, thank you for the amazing evening you created at your home - see you again soon ❤️” he wrote.

Beckham attended the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup semi-final match between India and New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium on Wednesday. He also met Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and cricketer Virat Kohli at the stadium.
