Darsheel Safary will be reuniting with his Taare Zameen Par co-star Aamir Khan after 16 years for a new project, the actor hinted in an Instagram post on Monday.
“BOOOMMMMM. 16 years later, and we're together again Emotional? Yeah, a little. Charged? ABSOLUTELY,” the 26-year-old actor wrote alongside a collage of a still from the 2007 film and another from his upcoming project with Aamir. The picture immediately went viral on social media.
Expressing his love for Aamir, his “favourite mentor”, Darsheel asked fans to stay tuned for the big revelation about their new film.
In the collage, the picture at the top shows a scene towards the end of Taare Zameen Par when the child actor, Darsheel, smiles at his mentor, played by Aamir, after winning an art competition. Sixteen years later, Aamir is seen as an old man with white hair and beard, while Darsheel is a young man in the picture at the bottom.
Aamir and Darsheel are reportedly working together on Sitaare Zameen Par, slated to release during Christmas this year.
Taare Zameen Par (2007) revolves around a dyslexic child Ishaan (Darsheel) who struggles in school due to his learning disability. His journey takes a turn when an understanding art teacher (Aamir) recognises his talent and helps him discover his true potential,
Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), a Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, and Salaam Venky (2022) in a cameo appearance. Darsheel, on the other hand, starred in two movies in 2023 — Hukus Bukus and Kutch Express.
