“Focus Features and Plan B partner on Ronan Day-Lewis’s feature directorial debut ANEMONE, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley, & Safia Oakley-Green,” the makers wrote on Instagram, sharing an article of US-based entertainment magazine Deadline.

Day-Lewis and his son penned the screenplay for Anemone, which will be released internationally by Universal. The film reportedly explores the dynamics of familial bonds.

Ben Fordesman serves as the Director of Photography for Anemone, while Jane Petrie is the Costume Designer and Chris Oddy is the Production Designer.

Day-Lewis announced his retirement from acting in 2017, just before the release of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread.

The 67-year-old British actor made his screen debut as a teenager in Sunday Bloody Sunday in 1971 and went on to star in numerous iconic period dramas, including his role as Hawkeye in The Last of the Mohicans (1992). He has won three Best Actor Oscars for portraying disabled Irish writer Christy Brown in My Left Foot (1989), oil magnate Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood (2007) and Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012).
