Harshvardhan Rane and Ehan Bhat’s college friends-turned-rivals lock horns over something more serious than a shared love interest, leading to fist fights and bloodshed in the trailer of Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming film Dange, unveiled by actor John Abraham on Friday.
The two-minute-34-second-long trailer begins with Rane chilling on a beach. “This new generation has passion and enthusiasm. I welcome you all,” says a voiceover while showing scenes of college parties and students having fun. However, college camaraderie goes for a toss as Bhat enters the scene and picks up a fight with Rane over the latter’s girlfriend, played by Nikita Dutta.
Nikita asks Rana to give other students the right reasons to consider him as a hero instead of the wrong ones. “My coming to this college. Coming face to face with him. It’s not a coincidence,” Bhat speaks about Rana, adding that the latter will have to pay for something that he has done in the past.
Soon a group of students infiltrate the college building with guns and flamethrowers during a fest. The matter grabs the attention of the police, making the situation even messier.
“This is special…#DangeTheFilm Trailer out now,” Abraham wrote alongside the trailer on Instagram.
The official synopsis of the film on IMDb reads, “Journey that delves deep into the complexities of friends. Set against the backdrop of a vibrant college festival, the movie explores the intricate dynamics between two friends whose paths diverge and ignite a fierce competition.”
While Nambiar is known for directing films like Solo (2017), David (2013), Taish (2020) and Wazir (2016), Rane’s role in Sanan Teri Kasam alongside Mawra Hocane strikes a chord with fans.
Produced by T-Series, Nambiar, Prabhu Antony and Madhu Alexander, the screenplay for Dange is written by Nambiar, Mithila Hegde, Francis Thomas and Neil Julian Balthazar.
A Tamil version of the film has also been directed and produced by Nambiar. Starring Arjun Das, Kalidas Jayaram, Tj Bhanu and Sanchana Natarajan, the Tamil version is titled Por.
Also starring T.J. Bhanu, Dange is set to hit theatres on March 1.
