Bollywood couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor bagged the best actor awards at the 2023 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards ceremony at a five-star hotel in Mumbai on February 20.
While Alia won the best actress award for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ranbir bagged the best actor award for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. Alia also received Ranbir’s award on his behalf as he wasn’t present at the award ceremony.
The best film award went to Vivek Agnihotri’s Kashmir Files. Anupam Kher won the award for the most versatile actor for his roles in Kashmir Files, Uunchai and Kartikeya 2.
Rishab Shetty received the most promising actor award of the year for his directorial debut Kantara, while the film of the year award went to S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR. R Balki won the best director award for the Dulquer Salmaan-Sunny Deol-starrer Chup: Revenge of The Artist, which was a tribute to Guru Dutt's Kaagaz Ke Phool.
Varun Dhawan was given the critics choice for best actor award for playing a werewolf in Bhediya.
Veteran actress Rekha was also honoured with an award for her outstanding contribution in the film industry. The 68-year-old actress was also spotted posing for pictures with Alia on the red carpet.
Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguli, Dulquer Salmaan, Tejasswi Prakash and Hariharan also attended the event.
