The Critics Choice Awards has released the list of nominees for its 29th edition, to be held in January 2024, a month ahead of the announcement of the Oscar nominations.
Greta Gerwig’s Barbie has secured a record-breaking 18 nods, surpassing the 14 nominations earned by the previous record-holders Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) and The Shape of Water (2017). It has received nominations in major categories like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. The film also earned three nominations for Original Song, recognising the contributions of Dance the Night, I’m Just Ken, and What Was I Made For?
Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things are hot on the heels of the Margot Robbie-starrer neon comedy with 13 nominations each.
The 29th Critics Choice Awards will be held on January 14, 2024 with comedian-actress Chelsea Handler set to return as the host for the 2024 ceremony.
