Comic Con India, the annual event that celebrates various pop culture fandoms, will make its Kolkata debut in February next year, the organisers announced on Monday.
The event will be held in the city on February 22 and February 23. The venue for the Kolkata event is yet to be announced.
Besides Kolkata, the event will also be held for the first time in Ahmedabad and Pune on March 22 and March 8, respectively. Previously, Comic Con India was held in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
“New cities, new adventures! Comic Con India is bringing the best weekend of the year to Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Pune! Get ready for epic cosplay, exclusive merch, and ultimate fan vibes,” the official page of the fan event wrote on Instagram.
Demon Slayer voice artiste Natsuki Hanae, known for voicing the anime’s protagonist Tanjiro Kamada, and producer Yuma Takahashi stole the spotlight at this year’s edition of Comic Con held on April 20 at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
Anime, gaming and pop culture enthusiasts came together for cosplays, workshops and fun stage events at the Mumbai event.
Comic Con India is powered by Crunchyroll. The convention will kick off in Hyderabad on November 15 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, followed by a stop in Delhi from December 6 to 8 at the NSIC Grounds in Okhla. Next, it will head to Bengaluru on January 18 and 19 at Whitefield’s KTPO. Chennai will host the event on February 8 and 9 at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam. The dates for Mumbai are not yet announced.
