Comedian-actor Jo Koy is all set to host the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards, to be held on January 7 in Beverly Hills, California, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Golden Globe announced on Thursday.
“We are thrilled to announce that @Jokoy is hosting the 81st Annual #GoldenGlobes,” wrote the organizers of the award ceremony.
Jo Koy shared a video revealing the news to his fans on Instagram on Thursday. “So excited to announce that I will be hosting the 2024 @goldenglobes. Make sure to tune-in on Sunday, January 7 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT - airing live on @cbstv and streaming on @paramountplus,” read the caption of his post.
The comment section of the post was flooded with congratulatory messages from Koy’s fans and fellow comedians. “It’ll be the first and last golden globes I ever watch,” wrote comedian Kevin Herrera.
Jo Koy is best known for his stand-up appearances on Comedy Central and the 2022 Netflix special Jo Koy: Live from the Los Angeles Forum.
The 81st instalment of the annual award ceremony will be streaming live at 8 pm ET and 5 pm PT on CBS TV and Paramount Plus. In India, the event will premiere at 5.30 am IST on Lionsgate Play.
