Coke Studio Bangla celebrated 40 years of the Bangladeshi heavy metal band Warfaze by dropping a new rendition of their iconic song Obak Bhalobasha as the third track of its third season.

Originally written and composed by former Warfaze lead vocalist Babna Karim, the new version of Obak Bhalobasha was composed, arranged and performed by Warfaze in collaboration with the Coke Studio team. The production team for this track includes Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu and Samir Hafiz.

The vocals are delivered by Babna Karim and Palash Noor, with Samir Hafiz and Kamal on guitars, Shams on keyboards, Tipu on drums and Roger on bass.

A cornerstone of Bengali rock music, Obak Bhalobasha was first introduced by Warfaze in 1994. As pioneers of rock music in Bangladesh, Warfaze has played a crucial role in shaping the industry for nearly four decades. The band revisited their classic hit with a fresh arrangement featuring a choir, a string orchestra and true to their style, heavily distorted guitar riffs.

The original composition, a contemplation on the enduring magic of love and nature, was conceived when Karim listened to the crashing waves on the Cox's Bazar beach, the longest uninterrupted natural beach in the world. To celebrate the occasion, the Coke Studio music video opens with stunning visuals of sand and moonlight.

Tati, the first song of Coke Studio Bangla S3 which dropped on April 13, celebrated the weavers of Bengal. The second song Ma Lo Ma, produced by Pritom Hasan, has already become a chartbuster with over 25 million views.

The first and second seasons of Coke Studio Bangla featured 11 and 12 songs, respectively. Animes Roy, Madhubanti Bagchi, Bappa Mazumder, Momtaz Begum, Rituraj Baidya, Sunidhi Nayak, Jalali Set (Band), Zohad Reza Chowdhury, Meghdol, Ghaashphoring Choir and Adity Mohsin were some of the singers who performed in the earlier seasons.
