Actor-filmmaker Clint Eastwood, 94 years young now, is back in the director’s chair with Juror#2, the trailer of which was dropped by Warner Bros on Tuesday.
Starring Nicholas Hoult, Juror #2 revolves around a high-profile murder trial and a juror’s intense moral dilemma. Hoult takes on the role of Justin Kemp, a family man thrust into a complex moral conflict while serving as a juror in a murder case. He finds himself questioning whether his late-night car accident a year earlier is somehow linked to the murder trial.
In the one-minute-48-second long trailer, Hoult’s character is shown driving down a dimly lit road, potentially hitting a deer. However, as he is called to serve on the jury for a murder case a year later, he begins to suspect that his accident may be tied to the crime. This personal connection to the case leaves Kemp wrestling with the power he holds in influencing the verdict, a dilemma that lies at the heart of the film’s narrative.
The ensemble cast of Juror #2 is packed with talent. Alongside Hoult is Toni Collette, known for her memorable role in The Sixth Sense. The cast also boasts J.K. Simmons, an Academy Award winner for Whiplash, Chris Messina, Gabriel Basso, Zoey Deutch, Cedric Yarbrough, Leslie Bibb and Kiefer Sutherland. Amy Aquino and Adrienne C. Moore round out the impressive lineup.
Eastwood directs from a screenplay by Jonathan Abrams, whose previous work includes Escape Plan. The film is produced by Eastwood, Tim Moore, Jessica Meier, Adam Goodman, and Matt Skiena, with executive producers David M. Bernstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell.
Juror #2 is slated for a theatrical release on November 1.
