Actors Rahul Kohli, Michael Trucco and Merle Dandbridge will reprise their roles along with Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra for Season 2 of Prime Video’s spy thriller series Citadel.
While Kohli and Trucco are known for their roles in The Fall of the House of Usher, Dandridge has featured in The Last of Us.
Apart from them, Stanley Tucci, Matt Berry, Gabriel Leone and Lesley Manville will also return for the second instalment of Citadel, while Irish actor Jack Reynor is also expected to play a key role.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Russo Brothers' AGBO, Citadel follows the conflict between the titular spy agency and its powerful enemy syndicate Manticore.
While Madden portrays Mason Kane, a top-class Citadel spy agent, Chopra essays the role of Kane’s work partner and lover Nadia Sinh.
The first season of Citadel premiered on Prime Video on April 28 last year and became the fourth most-watched series worldwide 24 days after its release. Citadel Season 2 will begin production this year, with Joe Russo directing all episodes of the upcoming instalment. David Weil will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
An Indian remake of Citadel, led by Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is slated to hit Prime Video on November 7. An Italian spin-off, Citadel: Diana, is also in production.
