Citadel: Honey Bunny most-watched series on Prime Video during launch weekend

The spy series, which hit Prime Video on November 7, is the Indian instalment of Citadel, originally starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Raj & DK’s Citadel: Honey Bunny, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has become Prime Video’s most-watched series worldwide during its launch weekend and is currently trending at No. 1 globally, the streamer announced Wednesday.

“Proof that spies can break more than just codes— they break records!🍯🐰 #CitadelHoneyBunnyOnPrime, watch now,” Prime Video India wrote alongside a poster of the series.

Fans flooded the comments section with their love and support. “Congratulations Team Citadel: Honey Bunny,” one of them wrote. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar also took to the comments section and dropped clapping, fire and red-heart emojis.

Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian instalment of the globally acclaimed action-thriller franchise Citadel, originally starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Citadel: Honey Bunny revolves around estranged spies, played by Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who reunite after years to protect their daughter Nadia. Nadia is destined to grow into the formidable spy played by Priyanka Chopra in the original Citadel series, setting the stage for an intriguing connection between the two shows.

The series is produced by D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO.

In addition to Varun and Samantha, Citadel: Honey Bunny stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar and Kashvi Majmundar in key roles.
