New-age talents are giving some of their best performances on OTT shows and movies. My pick of the most exciting young actor of today would be none other than Adarsh Gourav. His brilliant performance in the Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra starrer The White Tiger has earned him numerous nominations. His acting was absolutely spotless and people loved how he brought realism into his grey-shaded character. With his brooding good looks and superb acting in the Netflix series Guns & Gulaabs, he is the man to watch out for. Loved by audiences for his nuanced acting, it was also clear that he worked hard on the detailing needed to ace the part. I am very excited about his upcoming endeavours. (Who would you pick as the most exciting young Indian actor today... September 6)
Roshni Ojha
I would like to pick Rohit Saraf as the most exciting young Indian actor. From watching him as a cool, loving brother in Dear Zindagi to a hopeless romantic guy with a golden heart in Netflix’s Mismatched, his hard work and dedication have earned him the recognition he rightly deserves. He not only impresses us with his performances but also wins us over with his charming and chirpy personality. His characters are well fleshed out, almost as though out of a classic romantic novel, exuding comfort and charm. Within a short span of time, he has explored several kinds of characters and has pulled them off convincingly and flawlessly. Apart from his professional life, he also shares a beautiful bond with his regular co-stars, especially Prajakta Koli and Aisha Ahmed, which is evident on his Instagram timeline. It would be exciting to watch him gearing up for his upcoming films which would propel his career and establish him as a leading hero of Indian films.
Aayman Anwar Ali
I would pick Ujaan Ganguly as the most exciting young Indian actor of the current generation. Ujaan’s convincing portrayals of the 19th-century rosogolla inventor Nabin Chandra Das (in the film Rosogolla) to the young, conscientious doctor Aamir Hussain (in Lokkhi Chhele) bear testimony to his immense acting range and potential. If his talent gets adequately utilised, Ujaan will attain great heights in the world of Indian cinema.
Kajal Chatterjee
In my opinion, Janhvi Kapoor is the one that fits the bill. Like all youngsters in the film world, she is just finding her foothold but is showing great promise. That she has inherited acting genes is very evident. However, it is too early to compare her to her legendary mom Sridevi. In Good Luck Jerry, she plays a scheming drug peddler with an innocent face. In Roohi, she is the human and the non-human fused into one... a difficult role but easily essayed by Janhvi. In Mili, she is a fast-food chain employee who fights for her life tooth and nail after she is trapped in a freezer. In Gunjan Saxena, she made the entire audience stand up and salute her with her portrayal of the first woman fighter pilot in the country.
From playing offbeat roles to the run-of-the-mill song-and-dance sequences, Janhvi already has everything in her kitty. From voice modulation to emoting abilities, she is way ahead of her contemporaries. She is a promising star and one to watch out for.
Pampa Paul
I would pick Siddhant Chaturvedi as the most exciting young Indian actor today. Siddhant is an immensely talented actor. With his amazing performances, the actor already has made his distinct mark in Bollywood. He mesmerised all Bolly buffs with his fantastic act in his debut movie Gully Boy, for which he also clinched prestigious awards. Siddhant portrayed the character of MC Sher in the Zoya Akhtar film. His performance was so good in the movie that Siddhant rose to fame instantly after its release. Then, the handsome hunk again won the hearts of audiences with his performance in the 2022 movie Gehraiyaan.
