Makers of Chiyaan Vikram’s upcoming film Thangalaan shared a behind-the-scenes video, with a glimpse of the actor in an almost unrecognisable coal miner avatar, on his 57th birthday on Monday.
The Ponniyin Selvan star will play the lead role in Thangalaan, a Tamil-language film directed by Pa. Ranjith.
The one-minute-49-second video gives an exclusive glimpse into the sets of Thangalaan and shows Vikram in his rugged, never-seen-before look.
Centred around the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields of Karnataka, the film also features Parvathy and Malavika Mohanan. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider actor Daniel Caltagirone will be playing an important role in the film, according to the makers. Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Preethi Karan and Muthukumar make up the rest of the cast of the film, slated to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Odia, Marathi and Bengali languages.
Thangalaan is currently in the final stages of shooting.
