Chiranjeevi’s next project, initially named #Mega156, is a socio-fantasy film titled Vishwambhara, the actor announced on Monday, sharing a title and promo video of the upcoming film on social media.

“Beyond the universe and beyond the celestial realms, comes a light of hope - 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗪𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔,” wrote Chiranjeevi alongside the video on Instagram.

Full of striking visuals, the concept video begins with an enormous gateway leading viewers to a parallel universe, where a priest-like figure locks a mysterious egg-shaped box. The box, it seems, is infused with a life of its own. It passes through a black hole, colliding with an asteroid before striking the surface of the earth, creating a gargantuan crater. The egg-shaped box suddenly clicks open to reveal the title of the film.

Touted as a film exploring “mega mass beyond the Universe”, Vishwambhara is penned and helmed by Vassishta, known for the 2022 fantasy action film Bimbisara. Produced by UV Creations, the film’s music is scored by Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu composer M. M. Keeravani.

Chiranjeevi was last seen in Meher Ramesh’s Bhola Shankar and Bobby Kolli’s Waltair Veerayya. While Bhola Shankar did not perform well at the box office, the latter emerged as the third highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023. In Waltair Veerayya, Chiranjeevi shared screen space with Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan and Catherine Tresa.

Vishwambhara, which is reportedly in the initial stages of its filming, is slated to hit theatres during Sankranti next year.
