Sharing pictures from the muhurat ceremony on Instagram, the Mili actress wrote, “special day special beginnings #grateful #rc16.”

While Janhvi paired an embellished sea green sari with a golden sequined blouse, Ram Charan was nattily dressed in a white kurta. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who has been roped in for scoring the Buchi Bachu Sana-helmed film’s music, also attended the event.

A group picture shared by Janhvi revealed that the director Sana, Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Kamineni, Janhvi’s father producer Boney Kapoor were also present at the ceremony.

Couturier-filmmaker Manish Malhotra, who recently shared pictures from the wrap party of his latest production venture Ul Jalool Ishq, also reacted to the post, congratulating Janhvi and the entire team of RC 16 on the upcoming project.

On March 6, production house Mythri Movie Makers had announced Janhvi’s involvement in the film on her 27th birthday. Sharing a picture of the Roohi actress, the makers had written, “Welcoming the celestial beauty on board for #RC16 Happy Birthday to the mesmerizing @janhvikapoor .”

Janhvi will also star alongside Varun Dhawan in filmmaker Karan Johar’s upcoming romcom Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The film marks her second collaboration with Varun following their pairing in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal last year. Her other upcoming projects include the sports film Mr and Mrs Mahi and the political thriller Ulajh.

Ram Charan will be seen in S. Shankar’s political action thriller Game Changer.
