Chef Vikas Khanna has penned a note expressing his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan after the actor visited his Bungalow restaurant in New York.
“When SRK visited Bungalow & asked me to sit with him. As we spoke about me going to cinema everyday to watch DDLJ with my sister and every movie of his,” wrote Vikas on Instagram on Tuesday, reminiscing about his fanboy moment.
Dressed in a black t-shirt, Shah Rukh posed for a picture with Vikas at his restaurant. The 59-year-old actor looked dashing in long hair, black shades and well-groomed beard.
Heaping praise on the Dunki actor, Vikas wrote, “He became my hero for who he is. His voice. His patience. His confidence. His compassion. His friendship.”
The chef expressed gratitude to Shah Rukh for his support. “Today is dedicated to you Sir. You holding my hand and saying, ‘Bungalow represents us. Our parents. Our ancestors. Our India’. This is everything to a scared-paranoid-failed child from Amritsar,” he signed off.
Born in Amritsar, Vikas has been one of the judges of MasterChef India since its beginning. In 2024, he opened the Bungalow restaurant in the East Village neighborhood of New York City.
On the work front, Shah Rukh will soon appear in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film King, which will see him team up with daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. King will reportedly star Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
