Wamiqa Gabbi’s Charlie Chopra hunts for a killer in the official trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming web series Charlie Chopra and The Mystery of Solang Valley in a bid to clear her fiance’s name as a murder suspect.
Dropped by SonyLiv on Tuesday late night, the two-minute-16-second-long trailer shows Wamiqa Gabbi’s titular detective investigating the murder of a retired brigadier played by Gulshan Grover. Though it seems that the victim’s nephew Vivaan Shah is the real culprit, there is more to it than meets the eye.
The trailer goes on to show how the family members of the deceased brigadier, including Naseeruddin Shah, Lara Dutta, Neena Gupta and Ratna Pathak Shah, bicker among themselves for a share of his vast estate. Charlie must travel to Manali to solve the mystery and clear the name of her fiance — Vivaan — from the list of suspects.
The trailer gives us a similar take to Rian Johnson’s Knives Out movies in which a detective is on a mission to find the killer of a wealthy patriarch and finds family members or close-knit friends as his prime suspects.
The first episode of the series was released by the streamers a few months ago, showing the sudden appearance of a foreigner who claims herself to be the pregnant wife of the dead brigadier.

Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the SonyLIV series adapted from Agatha Christie’s crime mystery novel The Sittaford Mystery also features Priyanshu Painyuli, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Paoli Dam and Imaad Shah.
