A 200-year-old story of a king and a court dancer gets a new twist with a stunning Kangana Ranaut baying for blood as Chandramukhi in the trailer of the Tamil-language horror comedy film Chandramukhi 2.
Dropped by Sun TV on Sunday, the two-minute-47-second-long trailer opens with a big joint family, including a rowdy-looking Raghava Lawrence, moving to an old palace. However, they are told to avoid venturing into the south block of the mansion as it is haunted by the spirit of Chandramukhi, a court dancer who used to perform before King Vettaiyan Raja, also played by Raghava, and now seeks revenge on the family members who turn out to be the monarch’s descendents.
Directed by P. Vasu and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah via Lyca Productions, the Kangana Ranaut-starrer is a sequel to Rajinikanth-Jyothika’s Chandramukhi (2005), which was later remade in Hindi as Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). Apart from Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrance, the film also features Lakshmi Menon, Vadivelu, Srushti Dange and Raadhika Sarathkumar among others.
Chandramukhi 2 will arrive in cinemas on September 15.
