The teaser comes a day after Sidhu Moose Wala’s death anniversary and remembers another young Punjabi singer who was gunned down at the age of 27.

Also starring Parineeti Chopra, the film will bring to life the untold story of Punjab’s original rockstar Amar Singh Chamkila, who rose to fame in the 1980s. He was assassinated along with his wife minutes before a performance in Mehsampur, Punjab, on March 8, 1988.

Chamkila is regarded as one of the best live stage performers Punjab has ever produced and is extremely popular with village audiences. The singer is generally regarded as one of the greatest and most influential Punjabi artistes of all time.
