The teaser for Pratim Dasgupta’s upcoming cop thriller Chaalchitro - The Frama Fatale featuring actors from India and Bangladesh was dropped by the makers on Wednesday.
The ensemble cast of Chaalchitro includes Tota Roy Choudhury, Anirban Chakrabarti, Shantanu Maheshwari and Ziaul Faruq Apurba, who makes his Tollywood debut with the film.
“Devi Paksha begins today on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya. With the beats of dhaak and incantations of Chandi path, our film Chaalchitro - The Frama Fatale begins its journey. The teaser is here. Shower your love and blessings ,” wrote Pratim, known for films like Shaheb Bibi Golaam, Maacher Jhol and Ahare Mon, as he shared the teaser on social media.
Set in Kolkata, Chaalchitro follows the investigation of a series of murders that grip the city just before the Durga Puja festival. The narrative focuses on a team of four police officers played by Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anirban Chakrabarti, Shantanu Maheshwari and Indrajit Bose. They are tasked with solving these crimes. Women’s safety emerges as a central theme.
Chaalchitro also features Raima Sen, Swastika Dutta and Bratya Basu. Raima will appear as the wife of Tota Roy Chowdhury’s character, while Swastika Dutta plays the romantic interest of Shantanu.
Debojyoti Mishra has composed the music for the film. Usha Utthup, Rupam Islam and Iman Chakraborty have sung for the film.
Chaalchitro is eyeing a December release in theatres.
