Catherine Called Birdy

Amazon Prime Video has dropped the official trailer of its upcoming medieval-themed comedy film Catherine Called Birdy. Written and directed by Lena Dunham, the film stars Game of Thrones actors Lyanna Mormont and Bella Ramsey, and Sherlock’s Moriarty and Andrew Scott in lead roles.

The two-minute-18-second-long trailer gives us a glimpse of Birday’s (Ramsey) life as she tactfully avoids a marriage trap set by her father (Scott). The film also stars Lesley Sharp, Sophie Okonedo, Ralph Ineson, Isis Hainsworth, ​​Dean-Charles Chapman and Paul Kaye.

Catherine Called Birdy will make its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) before releasing in theaters on September 23. It will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from October 7.

The Menu

20th Century Fox has dropped the official trailer of its upcoming black comedy horror film The Menu. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult and Ralph Fiennes in lead roles.

The hilarious yet unsettling two-minute-13-seconds-long trailer follows the story of a young couple that visits an exclusive restaurant in a remote island, run by a mysterious chef (Fiennes), who starts attacking the diners.

The Menu will arrive in theaters on November 18 after its premiere at the TIFF in September.

House of Hammer

Discovery+ released the trailer of its upcoming documentary series House of Hammer, which will shed light on the grave allegation levelled by several women against Call Me By Your Name actor Armie Hammer.

In the three-minute-38-second-long trailer, Hammer’s alleged victims reveal the texts the actor sent to them, which included his assertion of being a “100 per cent cannibal”. The trailer also promises to dig deeper into the family history of the wealthy Hammers, who are shown to have a sinister history of atrocities against women. A female member of the family promises to reveal all the dirty secrets of the Hammers in the docu-series.

The three-part series, House of Hammer will start streaming on September 2.

Fakes

Netflix has dropped the trailer of an upcoming teenage comedy series, Fakes. The series stars Riverdale actress Emilija Baranac, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow actress Jennifer Tong, and The 100 actor Richard Harmon in lead roles.

The one-minute-53-second-long trailer gives us a peek at the life of two teenagers (Baranac and Tong) as they try to break the fourth walk to convey their story to the audience. The two best friends accidentally build and then lose one of the largest fake ID empires in North America.

The series also stars Mya Lowe, Devon Slack, Cameron Andres, Oliver Rice, Debbie Podowski, and Toby Hargrave.

Fakes will be streaming on Netflix from September 2.

Seoul Vibe

Netflix released the trailer of their upcoming 80’s themed South Korean car-based action film Seoul Vibe. The trailer gives us major Fast and the Furious vibes with the presence of smoke-busting engines.

We get to know the five drivers who make up the Sanggye-dong Supreme team in the two minutes-five-second-long trailer. They are in a position where they can’t really decline an offer to transport slush funds across Seoul in order to infiltrate a criminal organisation. The film stars Yoo Ah-in, Lee Kyoo-hyung, Park Ju-hyun, Ko Kyung-pyo and Ong Seong-wu.

Seoul Vibe will arrive on Netflix on August 26.
