Ananya Panday’s Bae copes with heartbreak before beginning a new chapter in her life in Mumbai in the music video of the Call Me Bae song Churaaiyaan, dropped by the makers on Tuesday.

The three-minute-long music video opens with a tense exchange between Ananya’s character and her husband Agastya (Vihaan Samat). As Mudit Chaturvedi’s vocals begin, Ananya, overcome with emotion, thrusts her wedding ring at Vihaan and storms out. The following scenes depict her grappling with solitude as she seeks solace in alcohol.

In a series of flashbacks, we see how Bae and Agastya led a happy life before their separation. Scenes of their fairytale wedding, engagement and first meeting are featured in the video. As the song progresses, we also see Ananya stumbling upon Vihaan and his new partner.

The music video concludes with Ananya, consumed by heartbreak, stumbling through the streets at night with a glass of wine in hand.

Penned by Shayra Apoorva, Churaaiyaan is sung by Suvarna Tiwari and Mudit Chaturvedi. The song is composed by Abhijeet Srivastava.

The recently dropped trailer of the upcoming series shows Ananya as a rich and privileged South Delhi girl who tries to adapt to middle-class ways in Mumbai after getting disowned by her billionaire family.

“Downsized from heiress to hustler, Bella 'Bae' Chowdhary, played by Ananya Panday, discovers her most valuable assets aren't her diamonds but her street smarts and style. Broke but refusing to be broken, she navigates the newsrooms of Mumbai, finding beaus, behens, and her better self while breaking the big news,” reads the official synopsis of the show on Amazon Prime Video.

The upcoming series, produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under Dharmatic Entertainment, also stars Vir Das, Muskkaan Jaferi and Niharika Lyra Dutt in key roles.

Call Me Bae will hit Prime Video on September 6.
