BTS members Jin, Jimin, Taehyung, J-Hope, RM, Suga and Jungkook talk about their pandemic struggles and reflect on their decade-long journey in the official trailer of the eight-episode Disney+ docuseries BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star.

Dropped by the streamer on Wednesday, the one-minute-41-second-long video traces BTS’s rise to stardom, starting from their entry into the K-pop scene with the boys getting ready for their first show ever as Namjoon sets the alarm in the morning for their final practice. The clip shows the boys huddling together and yelling “Bangtan, Bangtan, Bang, Bangtan!”

“I was convinced these guys need to venture on stage no matter what it takes,” RM says in the video as the band’s 2021 song Butter plays in the background. “We worked really hard,” says Suga before breaking into a peal of laughter and joking, “I was going to run away for real. I’m being serious.”

After showing some of the band’s fan-favourite moments, the trailer goes on to document the boys’ dreams of going on tour were crushed due to the pandemic. “We were about to go on tour,” said Namjoon, before their agent broke the news that that would not be possible at the moment. “When time stopped, we lost our days,” a message from the band appeared on the screen.

On Monday, the official X handle of BTS shared two posters of the documentary, including scenes from the trailer.

BTS Monuments: Beyond The Star will premiere on Disney+ on December 20.
