Released as the title track from his second solo mixtape D-2, Daechwita offered a fusion of traditional South Korean music and modern hip-hop, paving a new path in K-pop and Korean music. The music video has a total of 460 million views on the streaming platform.

Daechwita, named after traditional Korean royal procession music, explores themes of ambition, self-discovery and resilience.

Other music videos of BTS songs including Permission To Dance, Dynamite and Butter have also garnered over 15 million mark on YouTube.

The rapper enlisted for compulsory South Korean military service in September 2023. Band members Jin and J-Hope completed their service and returned to civilian life earlier this year. Other members – RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook – are also serving in the South Korean military.
