K-pop boy band BTS's eldest member, Kim Seokjin (Jin), made a comeback with new single I’ll Be There on Friday following an 18-month-long mandatory military duty in the South Korean army.
I’ll Be There from Jin’s upcoming album Happy presents the singer as a rock-icon in the official music video.
The three-minute-15-second video is a tribute to ARMY (BTS's worldwide fanbase). The song has garnered 1.2 million views so far and is currently trending at 18 on YouTube.
The video showcases Jin performing with a band under a flyover. Set against a crystal blue sky, it opens with Jin in his laid-back rock-star persona, sporting an all-denim ensemble, and welcoming a group of skateboarders with a buzzing, energetic performance at a festival. The crowd gradually grows big as more people, including college students and young professionals, join in the celebration amidst a drizzle of paper confetti.
The album Happy will comprise six songs — I’ll Be There, Another Level, Running Wild, Heart on the Window, I Will Come to You and Falling. The album is slated to release on November 15.
Jin returned to civilian life after completing his military services on June 12. On October 17, another BTS member J-Hope completed his military service.
Other members of BTS — RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook — are currently serving in the South Korean military.
