K-pop boy band BTS’s eldest member, Kim Seokjin aka Jin, on Friday dropped the second single from his debut solo album Happy. Titled Running Wild, the track explores the themes of impermanence and happiness, with focus on the importance of enjoying every moment.
The three-minute-18-second music video of Running Wild showcases Jin spending his final day on Earth with his pet dog, cherishing every moment and creating as many happy memories as possible on the brink of apocalypse.
From watching a film in an empty theatre and dining out to running along the beach, Jin makes the most of his final hours on Earth while the sky darkens with smoke. The song’s core lesson is to find happiness and peace even on the darkest days. “We'll be running wild, loving ‘til the Sun is out, running ‘til there's nothing left, ‘til our last breath,” Jin sings.
Jin’s first solo album Happy, which was also released today, comprises six tracks — I’ll Be There, Another Level, Running Wild, Heart on the Window, I Will Come to You and Falling. Jin's pre-release single, I'll Be There, was released on October 25. The BTS star is set to host a live event, Happy Special Stage, on November 16 and 17.
K-pop boy band BTS's oldest member, Jin, released his solo single, The Astronaut, on October 28, 2022. The song, which was co-written by Jin and Coldplay, reflects themes of yearning, love, and adventure. It marks Jin's first official solo release before his military enlistment.
Jin returned to civilian life after completing his military services on June 12. On October 17, another BTS member J-Hope completed his military service.
Other members of BTS — RM, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook — are currently serving in the South Korean military.
