BTS member J-Hope celebrates 30th birthday at South Korean military camp with fellow soldiers, drops pictures

The K-pop star began his mandatory military enlistment on April 18, 2023

BTS member J-Hope shared selfies and photos of him with fellow soldiers from the celebration of his 30th birthday at a South Korean military camp on Sunday.

“Happy hobi day🤣💜💕🫡,” J-Hope, affectionately called Hobi by fans, wrote alongside an Instagram carousel.

In one of the pictures, the rapper sported a black oversized sweater coupled with a knitted cap and posed for the camera with a heart-shaped birthday cake.

The singer-songwriter also provided a glimpse of the gifts he received on his birthday, including a Louis Vuitton package and white flowers. He also posted pictures with his fellow soldiers at the military where he is currently enlisted. He held a pink cake and stood in the middle while being surrounded by other soldiers sporting uniforms.

J-Hope also shared pictures from his recent outing at a location named after him in Seoul Forest Park. He clicked a selfie with a J-shaped bench at the park.

Taking to Weverse, J-Hope penned a heartfelt note on Sunday, thanking his fans for not making him feel “lonely” on his birthday. “ I thought my birthday wouldn't come while serving in the military,” he wrote, adding, “It’s my first and last birthday as a soldier... I can feel your love and interest these days.”

Expressing how the love and support of the ARMY makes him feel “whole”, J-Hope wrote, “In my heart, you're always at the center of any situation... It's a big part that I haven't forgotten while promoting for over 10 years.”

“Thanks to you, I didn't feel lonely this birthday either. I'll be discharged from the military and say hello in a cool way. Thank you,” he concluded his note.

All members of BTS have been serving in the South Korean military. While Jimin began his mandatory duties on December 12, 2023 along with Jungkook, RM and V had started their enlistment a day before. Jin had begun serving on December 13, 2022. J-Hope and Suga had started their duties on April 18 and September 22, respectively.
