South Korean boy band BTS have announced their schedule for the annual FESTA of 2024 on June 13, inviting fans in Seoul to join celebrations for the band’s 11th anniversary in the presence of its oldest member Jin who is set to complete his mandatory military service this week.
In addition, a brand new single titled Never Let Go by Jungkook is scheduled to drop on June 7, kicking off the anniversary celebrations leading up to the event.
Despite most band members on mandatory military duties, the annual FESTA promises ARMY (BTS fanbase) an exciting two-week event packed with fresh content and surprises. Jin, popularly known as ‘World wide Handsome’ is going to join the event on June 13 after returning from the South Korean military on June 12, completing his mandatory army service.
On June 2, BIGHIT Music, the official record label of BTS took to their official X handle to share the announcement notice released on their Weverse platform. The notice reads, “Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to announce an in-person event led by BTS member Jin to celebrate 2024 FESTA. This event was prepared in order to fulfill Jin’s wish to spend meaningful time with ARMY in person on BTS’s debut day. We invite you to join us as we express our gratitude for your unwavering love for BTS.”
Seokjin a.k.a Jin of BTS is the eldest band member who commenced his mandatory military services on December 13, 2022. The Astronaut singer is likely to be discharged from the army as a military assistant on June 12.
BIGHIT Music has also announced the upcoming release of Jungkook's latest solo endeavor. The youngest member of the South Korean music group is scheduled to release a single titled Never Let Go on Friday, June 7 at 1pm KST.
“Never Let Go is a heartfelt tribute to Jung Kook’s fans encapsulating the message “to never let go of each other’s hands,” as a token of gratitude for the boundless love from ARMY all over the world. We appreciate your anticipation and excitement for the new track,” reads the notice shared by the company.
Other members of BTS — RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook — are currently serving in the South Korean military.
