Netflix has announced a fresh selection of web shows and movies, including the eagerly awaited first part of Bridgerton Season 3 and a sci-fi thriller featuring Jennifer Lopez, for May. Here’s everything you need to know about the streaming platform’s lineup for the next month.

Frankly Speaking

Frankly Speaking narrates the story of Song Ki-baek (Go Kyung-pyo), a 33-year-old radio announcer who grapples with a condition compelling him to speak impulsively. On the other hand, On Woo-ju (Kang Han-na), a writer for a variety show, is intrigued by Song's spontaneous speech and sees potential for entertainment. This leads her to join him in a love-themed variety programme, drawn by the captivating nature of his disorder.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar

Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes his OTT debut as a director with Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Mallikajaan (Manisha Koirala) holds sway over a household of courtesans. But her confidence wavers when Fareedan (Sonakshi Sinha), the daughter of her former rival, resurfaces, stirring up tensions within the household. Meanwhile, the city itself seethes with unrest as revolutionaries clamour for India's liberation from British rule. Among them is Bibbojaan (Aditi Rao Hydari), Mallikajaan's own daughter, who throws herself into the struggle for freedom.

A Man in Full

Adapted from Tom Wolfe’s novel of the same name, A Man in Full is a limited series featuring Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane in lead roles. Helmed by Regina King and Thomas Schlamme, the six-episode series delves into the clash of business and political forces as Atlanta's real estate tycoon Charlie Croker (Jeff Daniels) fights to protect his empire from opportunists seeking to exploit his unexpected bankruptcy and downfall.

Beautiful Rebel

An Italian musical biopic directed by Cinzia Torrini, Beautiful Rebel is based on the life of rockstar Gianna Nannini. Adapted from Nannini’s autobiography Cazzi miei, the film features Letizia Toni in the lead role. It chronicles the story of Nannini’s rise through the ranks despite facing opposition from her family and the music industry.

Secrets of the Neanderthals

Ashley Gething helms Secrets of the Neanderthals, a documentary exploring the enigmatic world of the Neanderthals, trying to decipher the mysteries behind their existence and demise through the clues embedded in their fossil remains. Sir Patrick Stewart assumes the role of the narrator.

Unfrosted

Jerry Seinfield makes his feature film debut as a director with Unfrosted, drawing inspiration from the real-life saga behind the invention of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries. Set in 1963 Michigan, the movie chronicles the fierce rivalry between Kellogg's and Post Cereal as they vie to revolutionise breakfast with their innovative pastry creations. Mother of the Bride

Helmed by Mark Waters, Mother of the Bride is a romantic comedy that revolves around Emma (Miranda Cosgrove) and her mother Lana (Brooke Shields). Emma returns from a year abroad in London and surprises her mother by announcing her impending marriage in just a month at a luxurious resort in Phuket, Thailand. Complications arise when Lana learns that the groom-to-be is the son of someone who broke her heart in the past.

Bridgerton Season 3 – Part 1

Bridgerton, adapted from Julia Quinn's eight-novel series by Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland for Netflix, follows the story of the Bridgerton family, led by widowed matriarch Violet (Ruth Gemmell), and their pursuit of suitable marriages in New England's high society. Season 3 will revolve around the romantic storyline between Penelope aka Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). The season will premiere its first four episodes on May 16, followed by the next four on June 13.

Jennifer Lopez plays the titular role in Atlas, a sci-fi action epic helmed by Brad Peyton. Benedict Cumberbatch headlines the British psychological thriller minis-eries where he plays a father looking for his son. aided with the help of a life-size version of his puppet creation. Set in 1980s New York, the series follows the story of a puppeteer, Vincent (played by Cumberbatch), whose nine-year-old son Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe) has gone missing. Vincent's erratic actions drive a wedge between him and his loved ones. Battling with addiction, he starts to believe that his towering puppet, Eric, holds the key to reuniting with Edgar.
