Box office: Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 beats Singham Again in neck-and-neck race on third weekend

Suriya-starrer Kanguva crossed the Rs 50-crore mark at the box office in the extended first weekend

Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again are in a neck-and-neck race to cross the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office after a decent performance over the last weekend.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has managed to pull ahead of Singham Again during its third weekend. According to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk, the horror-comedy film opened strong, raking in Rs 158.25 crore nett in its first week, followed by a Rs 58 crore nett in its second week.

In its third weekend, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 demonstrated solid staying power, collecting Rs 4.15 crore nett on Friday, Rs 5 crore nett on Saturday, and Rs 6 crore nett on Sunday. This pushed its total box office collection in India to Rs 231.40 crore nett by the end of its 17th day.

Singham Again, Rohit Shetty’s latest addition to the cop universe, continues to hold its ground. The film collected Rs 173 crore nett in its opening week and Rs 47.5 crore nett in the second week. Over its third weekend, it amassed Rs 2.75 crore nett on Friday, Rs 3.35 crore nett on Saturday, and around Rs 4.15 crore nett on Sunday. This brought its total box office earnings to Rs 230.75 crore nett after 17 days.

Suriya-starrer Kanguva, which released on November 14, managed to earn Rs 10.50 crore nett on Day 4, taking its extended first weekend earnings past the Rs 50-crore mark. The Siva-directed fantasy drama has collected Rs 53.85 crore nett in India so far.

Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey-starrer The Sabarmati Report minted Rs 6.35 crore nett in three days, while Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II collected Rs 6.14 crore nett in India during the same period.
