Jeet and Rukmini get entangled in a comedy of errors involving a real woman and a humanoid in the trailer of Sauvik Kundu-helmed sci-fi comedy Boomerang, which marks the Tollywood stars’ first-ever onscreen pairing.

“Welcome to the roller coaster of Comedy, Entertainment & Fun. The family Entertainer is arriving in Theatres on June 7th. #Trailer #OutNow #Boomerang,” Jeet wrote on X after sharing the trailer on Friday.

The two-minute-53-second long trailer features Jeet as Samar Sen, a robotics scientist who inadvertently designs a female humanoid robot, NISHA (played by Rukmini), which bears an uncanny resemblance to his wife Isha. The trailer promises a series of hilarious identity errors as Samar’s family members get confused between NISHA and Isha, resulting in uproarious interactions.

Joining Jeet and Rukmini in this laughter-filled adventure are Saurav Das, Debchandrima Singha Roy, Kharaj Mukherjee and Rajatava Dutta in pivotal roles. Nilayan Chatterjee has composed the music for the film.

Produced by Jeetz Filmworks Private Limited, Boomerang is scheduled to release in theatres on June 7. It is based on the play Punoray Ruby Ray, staged by the Lok-Krishti group.

Jeet was last seen in Sanjoy Somadder's Manush (2023), while Rukmini captivated audiences in Birsa Dasgupta’s Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya (2023) alongside Dev. She also made a cameo appearance as herself in the Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Crakk earlier this year.
