Padmavati will marry Allauddin Khilji, quite the opposite of the Bollywood script of Padmaavat.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh on Sunday announced on their social media handles that they plan to tie the knot on November 14-15.

'With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that are wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of November 2018,” the statement said.

'We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty, friendship and togetherness. Lots of love, Deepika and Ranveer,' the post, made like a wedding card, read.

All through the end of 2017, the Shri Rajput Karni Sena held protests and threatened to stop the release of Padmaavat. According to the group, Padmavati, supposedly a Rajput princess, had been shown in disrespectful light because Deepika had twirled to a song. The film, originally titled Padmavati, was released after being rechristened Padmaavat after the Karni Sena's protests. A member of the Rajput group had threatened to chop off the actress's nose. The film's release was pushed back because of the protests, but it became this year's first Bollywood hit.

Deepika and Ranveer had played lovers in Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani, but in Padmaavat Ranveer was conquerer Khilji. Padmavati, in order to escape from Khilji after her husband Ratan Singh was killed, committed jauhar -- a group self-immolation by Rajput women.

Deepika, who is 32, and Ranveer, a year older, announced their wedding in both Hindi and English. They did not reveal the venue.

Reports of the couple tying the knot have been doing the rounds since early this year.
