Windows Production on Tuesday dropped the official trailer for Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s upcoming film Bohurupi featuring Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and Shiboprosad himself.
The three-minute-long trailer opens with a confrontation between bank robber Bikram (Shiboprosad) and police officer Sumanta Ghoshal (Abir).
As the trailer progresses, the setting shifts to Chhyanchrapur, a fictional West Bengal village inhabited entirely by criminals. After introducing us to the village's top pickpocket Jhimli (Koushani), who is married to Bikram, the video also goes on to show the conjugal life of Sumanta and wife (Ritabhari).
The trailer for Bohurupi delves into the complexities of its characters and the societal implications of crime. It highlights how a folk artiste is forced to resort to dacoity to make ends meet due to government apathy.
“Bohurupi is coming to the big screen this Durga Puja,” the production house wrote on social media alongside the trailer.
Bohurupi is slated to hit cinemas on October 8. It will face off at the box office against Srijit Mukherji-helmed Tekka featuring Dev, Swastika Mukherjee and Rukmini Maitra in key roles. Pathikrit Basu’s Shastri,starring Mithun Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Soham Chakraborty will also release on the same day.
