Windows Production has released the first teaser for director duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s upcoming film Bohurupi, starring Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and Shiboprosad himself. The one-minute teaser doesn’t reveal much except for a one-line story about two powerful adversaries and their accomplices involved in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase, set in Bengal.
“The first glimpse of Bohurupi. Coming on the big screen this Durga Puja,” the production house wrote on social media alongside the teaser.
Shiboprosad is almost unrecognisable as Bikram, a mime artist who dons different avatars in the teaser. Abir, who had played an intelligence officer in Nandita and Shiboprosad’s 2023 release Raktabeej, is back as a cop. His character, Sumanta Ghoshal, is seen chasing the elusive Bikram.
Bohurupi marks a reunion for Abir and Ritabhari, who previously shared the screen in Aritra Mukherjee’s 2023 drama Fatafati, also produced by Windows Production. The film is slated to hit cinemas in October during Durga Puja and is set for a box office face-off with the Srijit Mukherji-directed Tekka, starring Dev, Swastika Mukherjee and Rukmini Maitra.
The Bohurupi teaser has been playing in cinemas since August 15. It hit digital platforms today.
