Actor Bobby Deol has been roped in for Vijay’s final film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the makers announced on social media on Tuesday.
“100% official now, Super happy & excited to announce that @iambobbydeol joins #Thalapathy69 cast,” reads production house KVN Productions’s post on Instagram.
The yet-to-be-titled H. Vinoth directorial will mark the second Tamil film of Bobby’s career, following his Tamil cinema debut in Suriya-starrer Kanguva.
Sharing the news on his Instagram story, Bobby said he was "super excited" to be a part of the project.
Slated to hit theatres in October 2025, Thalapathy 69 is reportedly going to be Vijay’s last film before he ventures into politics. Anirudh Ravichander has scored music for the film.
Venkat K Narayana will produce Thalapathy 69 under the banner of KVN Productions, while Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith.N.K will serve as co-producers.
“We are beyond proud & excited to announce that our first Tamil film is #Thalapathy69, directed by the visionary #HVinoth, with music by the sensational Rockstar @anirudhofficial. Super happy to collaborate with the one and only #Thalapathy @actorvijay. The torch bearer of Democracy is arriving in Oct 2025,” the production banner wrote on Instagram last month, sharing a poster of the upcoming film.
Vijay, who was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s GOAT, launched his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in February and announced his plans to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls.
On the work front, Bobby will play Udhiran in Kanguva, which also stars Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Natty Natarajan, KS Ravikumar and Kovai Sarala in key roles. The movie will hit theatres on November 14 in 10 languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
Bobby has also signed Telugu projects like Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Balakrishna’s NBK 109.
