Blackpink member Rosé has broken BTS member Jimin's record with her new song APT., garnering 14.59 million streams in a single day on Spotify, the highest by a K-pop singer, according to World Music Awards.
Rosé collaborated with Bruno Mars on APT., which was released on October 18. Jimin’s WHO garnered 10.6 million streams in a day upon its release on July 19.
“#Rosé scores the Biggest Streaming Day in Spotify History for a Song by a K-Pop Female Soloist as APT. hits 14.596 Million streams,” wrote the official Instagram handle of World Music Awards on Wednesday.
The track’s official music video has also achieved the milestone of becoming the fastest video to cross 100 million views on YouTube in 2024 followed by its viral success across social media.
The music video is a flirtatious, punk-infused pop song inspired by the popular Korean drinking game, the apartment game.
Earlier this month, Rosé announced a new chapter in her music career with the upcoming release of her debut solo album Rosie on December 6. Her first solo album R released in 2021. She shared that Rosie is deeply personal, describing it as a reflection of her emotional journey.
All the members of Blackpink — Lisa, Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo — last appeared together in the music video of their 2022 single Shut Down, which went on to top the Billboard Global 200.
Meanwhile, Bruno Mars is currently on a concert tour in Brazil and will be performing in Las Vegas in December. Mars’ last solo album, 24k Magic, was released in 2016, followed by his 2021 collaboration with Anderson Paak on An Evening With Silk Sonic.
In August, he released Die With a Smile with Lady Gaga, debuting the romantic ballad live at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 3.
