K-pop girl group Blackpink’s 2019 music video Kill This Love has surpassed two billion views on YouTube, their music label YG Entertainment announced on Saturday.
Comprising Lisa, Jisoo, Rosé and Jennie, Blackpink has become the first K-pop group to repeat this feat after they hit the two-billion mark earlier on the streaming platform with their 2018 music video DDU-DU DDU-DU for the first time.
“BLACKPINK ‘Kill This Love’ M/V HITS 2 BILLION VIEWS @Youtube BLINKs worldwide, thank you so much! ‘Kill This Love’ M/V,” YG Entertainment wrote on social media alongside a poster of the music video.
Kill This Love captures the emotion of ending a toxic relationship with its bold brass intro and explosive chorus. The music video of the song set records tumbling by emerging as one of the fastest to reach 100 million views on YouTube.
Blackpink has been on a hiatus following their 2022 album Born Pink. They made a comeback this year with their Born Pink World Tour and its concert film that hit Indian theatres on August 9. The group is also expected to release a new album this year.
The K-pop girl group members have been working on their solo tracks and albums, with Lisa releasing two tracks — Rockstar and New Woman — this year. Jennie is also gearing up for a major comeback with a solo album under her own label OA.
